Beat up mitt

So I have known for awhile that my mitt is old and beat up. But I always thought that it meant that I had a great broken in mitt that was perfect for my hand. But the straw that killed the camels back happened a couple of nights ago playing in a softball game. I'm out there in the field and a pop fly gets hit to me. It was an easy one and I was right under it. Right as it hit my glove, I remember thinking it felt different hitting my mitt. To my utter surprise, when I went to retrieve the ball from my mitt, it was not there! This is not acceptable in my world, so you can understand my astonishment! Apparently, my mitt is so worn out on the tip, that the mitt just gave way to the ball! This has happened a couple of other times just throwing the ball back and forth, but I think this was the last straw! I guess after using the same mitt for almost 15 years will do that to you! I am now looking for new mitts. Here are some pics of my old decrepped glove that doesn't look too bad, but looks can be deceiving!
